Group Tours
The Clinton County Historical Society invites travel agents and tour bus operators to consider visiting our beautiful Central Pennsylvania Region. We will create a wonderful day-long experience, starting with a tour of the Historical Society's Heisey House Museum and at your option, progressing to our other properties including the Barton Street School, the Farrandsville Iron Furnace and the Castanea Railroad Station. For a sample virtual tour of the Heisey House click here: Brief Tour.
Please call 570-748-7254 in advance to book your tour since all our group guided tours begin at the Heisey House and are customized to meet your needs. Most tours of the house take about two hours. We welcome picnic lunches on the grounds, which are equipped with picnic tables and a sheltering tent and encourage people to visit our gift shop. If you decide not to tour our other properties, we encourage you to explore downtown Lock Haven which is around the corner or visit the Piper Aviation Museum, Millbrook Playhouse [evenings June through August] or just take a stroll along the river and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Central Pennsylvania.
Group Tour admission is $3.00 per person with complimentary admission for tour leaders and bus drivers.
Individual Tours
Individuals and families are encouraged to stop in for a personalized tour. As you step into the past, you experience the Victorian Era, lean about our lumbering industry, the canals and antique tools used over 100 years ago. Tour rates are $3.00 per individual, $5.00 per family. There is no need to make an appointment to tour the Heisey, but we do ask you call ahead to tour our Barton Street School, which is a hands on museum and open only by appointment. Also, consider the benefits of membership in our Society. Your membership will help to preserve history and offers the following benefits.
School Tours
We encourage participation by area school districts and work closely with educators to offer the children a memorable and educational experience of their visit to our Society. As with group tours, we customize your tour and ask you call ahead to make reservations.
