2010 Annual Meeting

Sunday, March 21

Our 2010 Annual Meeting is Sunday, March 21 at 1:00 p.m. at the Heisey Museum. Refreshments will be served and Robert Sandow will be our keynote speaker!

Robert Sandow, History Associate Professor, Lock Haven University, grew up in the Laurel highlands of Southwestern Pennsylvania, where family trips to its famous battlefields sparked a lifelong passion for Civil War history. Sandow completed a Bachelor’s degree from Gettysburg College in 1992 before earning a PhD in 2003 from the Richards Civil War Era Center at Penn State University. His research specialties include the Northern home front during the Civil War, with particular interest in issues of dissent, partisan politics and opposition. He currently is an Associate Professor of History at Lock Haven University, where he teaches classes on American History up to the Civil War, Military History, Modern Japanese History, and introductory courses on Public History and Museum Studies.

5K Time Journey Charity Run

Saturday, April 24

Charity run to benefit the Heisey Museum. Was very successful for our first run! We had 48 runners. And the winners are!

Clinton County Economic Partnership Annual Expo

Wednesday, May 12

Visit our booth at the Clinton County Economic Partnership Annual Expo held at Lock Haven University. This year we will feature the world of Henry Shoemaker.

Living History Day

Thursday, May 27

Thursday, May 27 is once again Living History Day as presented by the Keystone Central Middle School students. From 9:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. visit their exhibits at the old high school gym then take a stroll up to the Heisey to view other exhibits and have the children give you a tour.

Textile Show - 'Timely Stiches'

June 25-27

June 25, 26 & 27, at the Masonic Temple in Lock Haven on the corner of Main and Grove street. The show celebrates all aspects of fabric arts of quilting, needlework, weaving, knitting, embroidery and CCHS's quilt and textile collection. Karen Powers, a professional appraiser will be available for quilt appraisals by appointment only. If you would like to have a quilt appraised please call our office to make an appointment.

Times: Friday, June 25 noon to 5:00 p.m.; Saturday, June 26 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 27 noon - 4:00 p.m.
Admission is $5.00 adults, Children under 12 $3,00 and a two day ticket is $8.00

Annual Holiday Reception

Friday, November 19

Starting at 5:00 p.m. CCHS is moving our annual Holiday Reception to November this year and starting the holiday season off with a cornucopia of food and fun for all!
