Since its creation in 1921, the Clinton County Historical Society has gone forward into history, charged with preserving the precious artifacts of Clinton County for future generations to share. The Historical Society maintains several properties throughout Clinton County including the Heisey Museum, the Farrandsville Furnace [on the National Register of Historic Places and the first ever built in the United States], the Barton Street School [a hands on museum for children], Guardlock [at Fargus Island] and Castanea Railroad Station. As we look to the future our financial needs, as with any non-profit organization, grow every year. While mapping our plans for present and future, we who are charged with our financial planning have looked at the needs that exist and developed a financial road map allowing growth while keeping to our mission -- that of preserving Clinton County’s history for generations to come. To do this we are asking you to become our partner in this challenge. Please join us in our efforts as we "go forward into history" preserving these artifacts for future generations. We depend entirely on the generosity of the community we serve, through gifts, memorial bequests by will, annuities, volunteer help and financial partnerships. Your financial partnership will help us meet the goals and challenges of service to the community of which we are charged. We will also give you cards for your employees so they may visit the Society’s properties free of charge and receive member discounts.
